FAQ Senior Portraits

Can I use any photographer?

For most high schools, you do have a choice for your Senior Portraits.  Many times they make it sound like you must go to whoever they recommend.  That’s not always the case.  We do offer more affordable options.   Always check with your school to make sure.

Will Portrait Arts submit my yearbook photo to my school?

Absolutely!  You may need to provide the information for us or at least get us the contact information so that we can make sure the specs are correct and on time for their deadline.

Can I have a friend, family member or pet in some of the photos?

Of course!  That’s a great idea.  Many times Senior Portrait Sessions turn into a family session as well.  Our focus will be you of course, however we can definitely pose some photos with a friend, pet or even your immediate family.

How long is your appointment?

About 45 – 60 minutes, depending on outfit changes, location etc.

When can I see my pictures?

We will have you schedule a viewing & ordering appointment within 7-10 days after your session.

How long does it take for my order ?

Unless you have an exceptionally large order, 2 weeks is the average turnaround time.

I have acne, should I wait until it clears?  or can you retouch?

That’s entirely up to you.  However, with digital files , we do utilize Photoshop to remove just about anything that shouldn’t be there.  Acne, scratches, bruises, braces  etc…  There may be an additional fee for extensive retouching.

Does my mommy or daddy have to come with me?

This is up to you and your parent.  If you are 18 or over, you can sign our model release.  If you are under 18, we will need a parent /legal guardian to sign the model release.  I can email a release to your parent.  You can print it out, have it signed and come in without your parent.

What should I wear?  How many outfits should I bring?

These are your Senior Portraits.  However, you do need to follow school guidelines.  Aside from that, please pick something that you are comfortable in, preferable solids or a soft pattern, nothing too distracting.  For more Helpful Hints, click here.
